How to pick the perfect watch for your hand size?
One of the factors to consider in choosing a watch is how well proportioned the watch is to your wrist and hand. If it’s too big for your wrist, it will stand out and look garish; too small, It’ll look ill fitting and be largely uncomfortable to wear across occasions.
So how do you know what size works for you?
The general rule is if the circumference of your wrist is 6 to 7 inches, you want to go with a watch that has a case diameter of 38-42 mm wide. If your wrist is larger than 7 inches, then you can go with cases that are 44-46 mm wide.
Women’s wrists usually range from 5 inches to 7 inches in circumference, and women’s watches have diameters anywhere from 22 to 34mm, depending on the style. A smaller watch diameter of 22 to 28mm is more suitable for a petite wrist of 5 to 6 inches, and a diameter of 28 to 34mm is more suitable for an average wrist of 6 to 7 inches.
The best way to figure out if a watch is proportional to your wrist and hand is to try it on and eyeball it. Ask friends and family for their opinion.
